Water fight with the fire fighters

One of our neighbors is a fire fighter. He made arrangements with Draper City to have their firefighters come and have a water fight with our neighborhood. The kids had a blast, literally! The kids even had a chance to use the fire truck hoses.

Our little seamstress!

In between the chaos of camping, boating, scouting, and all summer activities; our cute, adorable Abby took some sewing classes with a few of her friends. She made this darling bag for school. It was pretty complicated, it has a zipper, plus a liner. (more than her mother is capable of doing). We found a really fun teacher, that teaches out of her home. Abby loves to sew, she is very creative! Abby and I are going to learn how to quilt together!

Demolition Derby

Seriously, if you have never been to a demolition derby, you need to change your ways. We went to Bear Lake with a group of friends. We had a great time boating, playing on the beach, eating Bear Lake raspberry shakes, and relaxing at Kelly's friends cabin. The final night we decided to attend a demolition derby, in a small town next to Bear Lake. We have never laughed so hard in our lives. We had so much fun! Our family will certainly do our best to find a derby to attend each summer. Our boys thought they had died and gone to heaven.

Snow, seriously???

This is legitimate. Snow/hail in August. We were enjoying a lovely weekend at our cabin, with Jeremy's family, when a freak storm passed over bringing us this lovely weather.

Camping

We don't do it often, but it sure is fun when we finally pull it together. We went on an overnight campout with Dean and Tara. We went to the Spruces Campground, up Big Cottonwood Canyon. It was beautiful! The only picture we took, was baby Blake driving the motorhome, so cute! Our boys slept in a tent, fulfilling another scout requirement. There is nothing like eating to much food, going to bed bloated, and smelling like campfire. Bowens provided some awesome breakfast burritos, that we cooked over the fire. Yummy!

Summer Traditions

Traditions give me warm fuzzies! Every year, for the fourth of July, we head up to our cabin in Midway. On the evening of the fourth, we visit our friends (the Parsons), at their cabin. Their cabin is in the same development as ours. They have a spectacular view of the Heber/Midway valley, from their deck. We eat dinner together, play games, and watch the fireworks. Our kids love to be together, the Parson children are triplets also!
